I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Speeding continues to be a priority both throughout the Ellesmere area and for West Mercia Police.
During February the local SNT team along with the assistance from PC Hogg from Oswestry rural north, conducted a number of speed surveys and enforcement as detailed below.

As with all previous occasions, these enforcement were conducted using a Trucam, any necessary penalties and correspondence will be sent directly to the registered keeper of any offending vehicles, as for the surveys, this data is collated and sent to the relevant departments and shared with the local parish councils.
The penalties for these offences depending on the speed recorded varies from a Speed Awareness Course, £100 Fine and 3 Penalty Points, and if largely excessive, a Summons to Court.
Excessive or inappropriate speed has no place on our roads and enforcement activities will continue to take place in locations highlighted by our communities and Parish Councils in an attempt to tackle the issue head on and make our roads safer to be on. Other activities and patrols also take place to address other traffic and motor vehicle offences with the Policing of our roads being a 24 / 7 and 365 days a year priority in which a number of West Mercia Police units / teams take part in addressing.
Please help us keep our roads safe by abiding to the laws of the road. Thank you
